Nepal Medics and Mountaineers Foundation (NMMF) is a non-profit organization and our operation is suppported by generous contributions/ donations from members and patrons. We have set a Medical Unit at the TIA Heliport. We are gradually strengthening our capacity in below listed work areas:

• Critical Care transfers by land and air -  We are able to convert a commercial helicopter into converted air ambulance with life support EMS kit and medics on board. We are also in the process of procuring an equipped ambulanc as well as a Hearse Vehicle (Sab Bahan) to give a respectable farewell. 

• Medical Repatiration - Our Trained Medics can facilitate repatration of patients anywhere in Nepal and around the globe.

• Search and Rescue - Our Mountain Rescue Guides are well trained to carry out Search And Rescue missions from the challenging terrrains.

• Search and Recovery Mission - In the event of Death in challenging terrains, our Mountain Rescue Team are able to carry out Search and Recovery Missions.

• Training And Development - Our goal is to organize continuous learning programs to develop future first responders for medical evaucation and mountain rescue.

As such, we need your continuous support and cooperation.

Our Primary goal is to procure EMS equipped ambulance and a Hearse (Sab Bahan) with a budget of 60,00,000 (60 lakhs). We will also be procuring Portable EMS systems to put in Place in Helicopters and Fixed Wing aircraft to facilitate transfers of critical care patients from regional hospitals to and from Kathmandu. Data shows many patients are referred to or brought directly to Kathmandu from other regional hospitals for the best possible care. Ambulance service is still in disarray as most of them run without Trained Medics and Medical Equipment.  

Medical camps in remote areas are frequently necessary with better doctors as many do not even contemplate a trip to Kathmandu. For example, many ethnic Bhote elders, male and female in remote Sankhuwasabha villages of Hungung, Chhepuwa, Hatia are dying of Cancer triggered by Gastritis at young age. This is just one example of what may be an epidemic in many other remote areas where way of life is primitive and people are choicelessly working hard. They are also deprived of fresh fruits and vegetables that the urban folks in the mid hills and southern cities get to enjoy. Additionally, we will be raising funds to purchase and stock Equipment and Gears essential for Search and Rescue Situation. This goal we believe will be achieved with your generous donations. We certainly would like to break the trend of receiving donations from foreign citizens initially and demonstrate that this is purely an initiation of our Nepali brothers and sisters from all walk of life. In future, any support extended to us will be welcomed and we will put in place a system to sustain this project perpetually. Our training and development program will highlight such issues and raise awareness.

The heritage sites of Nepal, a treasure of architectural marvels were built by our ancestor collective and selfless efforts to give back to the community and it proudly gives us the grandeur to enjoy. No elders went hungry in this country or were deprived of shelters. The first hospital was built to serve the citizens without discriminating their status and social reach. We live in a time when such efforts are diminishing and it’s about who you know or how thick your wallet is before you get a fair treatment. We need to revive the legacy left by our predecessors and put the efforts complimented by intention to build this organization strong so that the citizens and visitors feel reassured that they are in good hand in time of critical medical evacuation.
