Critical Care Hospital to Hospital Transfers

Until few years, transferring critically ill patients from one hospital to another hospital in a helicopter was non existent in Nepal. These are recently developed methods in Nepal by trained Doctors, who are members of NMMF.


Medical evacuation, often shortened to medevac is a timely and efficient movement with provision of en route care. Critically ill patients are evacuated from hospitals in different regions, scene of an accident, patients at a rural hospital requiring urgent care at a better-equipped facility using medically equipped ground vehicles (ambulances) or aircraft (air ambulances).
