Lakpa Norbu Sherpa is the most recognized face in Everest Base Camp during the Summit Season. He has been the instrumental contributor to Himalayan Rescue Association as their clinical coordinator of Everest ER clinic for last 17years.. Together with Rescuer Chhiring D. Bhote and Dawa Phinjo Lama Bhote, he received his training as Helicopter Rescue Longline Technician trained in Zermatt, Switzerland in 2012. Lakpa is also trained in wilderness medicine in the United States. Lakpa works as a free lance rescuer and has saved more than dozen lives from the area in mountains above 6000m. 

During less tourist season, he works in the huts in Austria. He lives with his wife Mingma Sherpa and sons Palden and Kalden in Kathmandu. Lakpa's photo has been held by Prsident Obama as a gesture of thanks for his heroic effort in saving lives while risking his own.
